I have my accounting degree, I am an entrepreneur, and until last year, I worked on a college campus with Student Mobilization for the past 12 years. I have been married to Amanda for 9 years and we have a 4 year old daughter and a 2 year old son.

I love starting things and I love seeing people thrive in life and reach their potential.

That’s why I started The Endurance.  Our courses and our community help Dads and future Dads reach their full potential and leave their legacy.  When we win, those around us win.  

The Legacy Letter Movement started when I was 19 years old.    

On May 23, 2003 after finishing up my freshman year at the University of Arkansas my dad tragically and unexpectedly drowned while we were on a vacation to Hawaii. This event, and the letter that my Dad finished several weeks before the trip would change my life forever. My dad’s death gave me a new perspective on life. I knew I wanted to live for God and his purposes.

I didn’t know exactly what that meant or how that would look..

Enter Sean Vollendorf and Brandon Rietz; two StuMo staff who sat down with me while I was eating in the cafeteria at the start of my sophomore year. Next thing I know I am in their weekly small group reading the book “Fuel and the Flame: 10 Ways to Ignite your campus for Jesus Christ” by Steve Shadrach.

For the next 3 years I lived on campus in the freshman dorms helping guys grow spiritually. I was so blessed during this time as I developed as a leader and saw God move in their lives.

After graduation I ended up in Dallas looking for a career in business. I love business and I thought that’s what I was supposed to do. But it hit me after about the 3rd interview, “I belong on a college campus right now!”

For 5 years I was on staff with StuMo at the University of Arkansas. During that time I married my wife Amanda who was involved with StuMo at the University of Oklahoma. After 5 years we were asked to move up to Springfield, MO and start StuMo at Missouri State University.

It was one of the hardest but most exciting and rewarding things I have ever done.

From the very beginning it was evident that God was in it, but it took a couple of years for it to really take off. After hours and hours of eating cafeteria food (and taking years off of our lives) just to meet students, speaking to fraternity and sorority chapters, leading small groups, and hundreds of one-to-one meetings things started to blow up. At the end of our time there we had a 100+ person leadership team, 400+ students at our winter conference, and 120+ students at our summer project. Hundreds and hundreds of students received Christ.

 My favorite number: 80% of those students were not Christians coming into college!

As we were transitioning out of college ministry, the opportunity to start The Endurance and continue the Legacy Letter Movement full time was staring me in the face.  I knew how a Legacy Letter could change someone's life and I also know that most Dad's are not currently writing one.  I knew I needed to step up and help father's get this done.
